ICAN Signs Mutual Collaboration Agreement with ACCA
In its continuous effort of mutual recognition of profession and members Internationally, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) has signed a Mutual Collaboration Agreement with Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) UK on Tuesday, 30 April 2019 in United Kingdom with an objective to determine the basis upon which admission to membership of appropriately qualified members of the other body may occur.
ICAN and ACCA, the parties to the Agreement, have agreed on the principles for recognition that will apply to Members of both the bodies which is based on two elements namely ‘Professional Program and Examinations’ and Practical Experience.
The Agreement has been signed by CA. Jagannath Upadhyay Niraula, President of ICAN and Ms. Helen Brand, Chief Executive Officer of ACCA in the cordial presence of Vice President, Chairperson and Members of International Affairs Committee of ICAN and high level officials of ACCA. It is expected that this Collaboration Agreement will lay a milestone in the professional history of both the Institutes as it was an awaited collaboration of professional excellence. It is a matter of pride for signifying the relevance of the mutual recognition of the two professional accountancy bodies in the interest of the Members, Institutes, Profession and the Nations at large.
