Walkathon Program 2019

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal celebrated International Accounting Day with a rally program on Sunday, November 10, 2019 in Kathmandu.

The walkathon rally was formally inaugurated by the Vice President of the Institute CA. Madan Krishna Sharma. The rally started from Brikuti Mandap and covered Bhadrakali, New Road, Ratna Park and concluded at Brikuti Mandap. Vice president CA. Sharma along with Immediate Past President, Council Members, Past Presidents, Members of the Institute, Students of the Institute and Staff Members of the Institute were the participants of the program. More than 800 individual’s participated in the rally program.

The program concluded at Bhrikuti Mandap with a Closing Ceremony Chaired by the Vice President of ICAN CA. Madan Krishna Sharma where President of Public Accounts Committee Honorable Bharat Kumar Shah and Dean of Faculty of Management Tribhuvan University (TU) Prof. Dr. Dill Raj Sharma were the Chief Guest and Special Guest of the Ceremony respectively.

Speaking on the Ceremony Vice President CA. Madan Krishna Sharma delivered the objectives of the program. Speaking on the occasion he stressed on the accounting principles and urged the participating members to follow the standards set by the Institute while doing accounting practice for the development of accounting profession in the country.

Similarly, Special Guest of the Ceremony Prof. Dr. Dilli Raj Sharma briefed about the changed TU Management Curriculum, equivalency on CA qualification with TU and some shortcomings of TU and the Institute.

In the similar way, President of Public Accounts Committee Honorable Bharat Kumar Shah briefed about the inter relationship between the Institute and Public Accounts Committee. He urged the accounting professionals to conduct their professional activities with ethical norms for economic development and accounting development in the country.


The ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Immediate Past President CA. Jagannath Upadhyay (Niraula). He thanked all the participating individuals for their active participation in the important event organized by the Institute.
